GATHER ROUND
Our Story Begins in January 2010. I got my first rabbit a little crossbred opal buck named Peanutt. Peanutt came to me as a suprise he was a gift from my parents, the people showed up at the house and my mom asked me to come outside, there was a girl holding a rabbit, she handed him to me and I had my first rabbit. My second rabbit was a Broken Black Mini rex Buck, named Oreo. I changed his name to Rhett. I fell in love with everything about the breed. So I decided to do mini rex. I thought I found 3 does, however I got 2 crossbreds and a New Zealand (though I didnt realize this until later), I took them home and added them to my herd, they grew up to be 2 crossbred bucks and a New zealand doe, the bucks went and the doe stayed, one of the bucks went in a trade for what I thought was 2 mini rex, but I found out was 1 mini rex doe (who I later found out was pedigreed) and a Rex doe. I had some others by this time, a lionhead buck, a french lop doe, the lionhead went on to a lionhead breeder. The French lop produced one litter then went on to be a pet. We went on to shows Canyon County fair 4H we took 3rd mini rex, and 4th Crossbred. Western Idaho fair 4H we took Best of Breed Mini Rex, Best Fur, RIS, and Reserve Crossbred. We picked up our First 2 Mini Rex Does, A castor (Summer) and a Black doe (Pixie, pedigreed). This began our Mini Rex Program, We had our first litter in October Keeping one little buck. Our Program grew from there to include Mini Rex, Rex and New Zealands. We have done well in all 3 breeds. Though we have had our set backs we continue to move forward. We started with pet moving to showing 4H and breeding, and then ARBA. We were hooked from day one. Look to our other pages to see where we have gone with our programs and where we are today.
