RESCUE STORIES
We have had several rescue rabbits through our rabbitry. In this section you will be able to read the stories of those special rabbits, their time here, and where they are now :)
LUCKY
Lucky is a steel Mini Lop doe. This doe was thrown out on the road. She was picked up by the people who brought her to me, she was barley alive when they found her and they had her a week before they contacted me. They brought her over and she was in a terrible molt, her fur was course and rough, and she was extremely skinny and skitish. She spent several months with us gaining weight, calming down, and getting her coat fixed. Finally she was ready for adoption. I was called up not too long after I put her on. She has gone to a young boy who will be using her for 4H and she is a spoiled pet.
JASMINE
Jasmine is a beautiful Broken Smoke Pearl Chocolate Crossbred doe. Jasmine was thrown out of a car in my driveway. We saw a glint in the mirror in the trophy case in the living room and saw a car speeding off dust flying. When the dust cleared we saw a rabbit trying to get into the garage with the rest of the rabbits. We managed to catch the spooky rabbit. She had a hurt leg (we think she popped something out of place.) We got her into a cage where she could rest and rehabilitate after a little work and some rehabilitation the leg was fine. She started to put on weight and started getting her sweet attitude back. Her and the mini lop doe Lucky. I got her ready for adoption and I put her on but got no replies. I got a text from my friend whitne who had lost one of her does who was a rescue when she was younger so she was looking for another rescue rabbit. I told her about Jasmine and she came to look at her, they fit together perfectly and upon approval from her dad she got her and now Jasmine has a wonderful home with a wonderful girl and will be shown in 4H next year. (pic to come soon)
BABY
BABY'S STORY IS ANOTHER SAD ONE. SHE WAS LEFT IN THE YARD BY HER PREVIOUS OWNERS. NO FOOD, WATER, OR SHELTER. THE PEOPLE WHO BROUGHT HER FROM ME ARE THE NEW OWNERS OF THE HOUSE AND FOUND HER THERE. THEY COULDN'T TAKE CARE OF HER. THEY WERE TRYING TO FIND HER A GOOD HOME WHEN THEIR DAUGHTER MET ME AT FAIR. SHE TOLD US ABOUT BABY AND I TOLD HER I COULD TAKE HER IN. SOME RESCUE RABBITS STAY WITH ME SOME ARE REHABILITATED AND REHOMED, THIS DOE CAPTURED MY HEART FROM THE BEGINING. SHE WENT TO MY BEST FRIEND JOCELYN AND HER SISTER MARISSA. SHE IS HAPPY AND CONTENT. :)
